Bangladesh: Tennessee State University Professor conducts field visits and orientation on organic farming in Muktagacha, Mymensingh District

Dr. Dilip Nandwani, Associate Professor on organic agriculture in Tennessee State University, USA, and Dr. Ashraful Islam and Dr. Nazim Uddin of Bangladesh Agricultural University, visited an organic agricultural field at Muktagachha, Mymensingh on 27-28 to provide orientation on organic farming.

Thrity-four local cooperative members of ALRD’s partner, Gram Unnoyon Songstha [Village Development Organisation] (GRAUS), participated in the event. During the field visit, GRAUS cooperative members were able to share their community’s problems on organic farming.

ALRD has been supporting it’s partner organizations in forming cooperatives, encouraging and training the local poor farmers on organic farming in collaboration with Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI).
